Crossfire Wins Sixth State Title

Tukwila, WA - Crossfire Premier ’91 won their Sixth Washington State Championship today by beating a fine Eastside FC ’91 squad 2-0 in the GU18 final. Crossfire scored once in each half to seal the win and the championship. Congratulations Eastside on a well played game and great season. For Crossfire, it was their fourth shut-out of the state tournament where they amassed an incredible 32-2 scoring advantage through their five games. For the season, Crossfire’s record stands at 17 wins against a single loss, with a combined goals tally of 76 goals scored while allowing only 9, and earning 11 shut-outs.

State Cup - Crossfire Over Spokane Shadow

Tukwila, WA - Crossfire beat a very good Spokane Shadow team today to earn another trip to the state championship final. Crossfire got on the board early and were able to contain Spokane Shadow’s attack and play through the inclement weather to come away with the victory. State Cup - Crossfire 5 vs 3 Rivers 2

Kirkland, WA - Crossfire Premier ’91 earned another trip to the Washington State Championship Cup Semifinals with a solid 5-2 win over a gritty 3 Rivers squad. Crossfire scored in the first five minutes and repeated two more times before giving up a goal to 3 Rivers late in the opening half. Leading 3-1 at the half, Crossfire gave up a second goal on a long shot early in the second half, then reloaded and scored two more times down the stretch to tally the 5-2 win. State Cup - Crossfire Over HPFC Eagles

Kirkland, WA - Crossfire won their second Washington State Cup qualifying round game today, beating HPFC Eagles, to advance as first seed in Bracket A. Crossfire scored once in the opening half and opened things up in the second with more goals to win their bracket. It was their second straight shut-out. Congratulations Eagles on the well-played game.

State Cup - Crossfire Beats Snohomish

Snohomish, WA - Crossfire got their bid for a 2010 Washington State Cup Championship off to a fine start today with a solid win over a good Snohomish United squad. Snohomish held Crossfire scoreless for the opening 20-25 minutes and then Crossfire connected and added two more to take a 3-0 lead into the half. Crossfire kept up the momentum in the second period, adding to their lead and coming away with the win.

FWR - Crossfire 2 vs Surf White 1

Temecula, CA - Crossfire came from behind in dramatic fashion in their closing game of the 2010 Far West Regional League, beating Surf White 2-1 near Surf central. Surf got on the board early off a corner kick, but Crossfire came storming back around the 20 minute mark on their own corner to knot it 1-1. They weren’t finished. Crossfire continued to play better and better as the game wore on, and took the lead for good in the latter part of the opening half off a steal, drive, cross and score. Both teams battled hard in the second half, but Crossfire’s defense held their ground enabling the team to come away with two wins in three games played in less than 24 hours - congratulations, girls!

FWR - Crossfire 0 vs Neon 1

Temecula, CA - Crossfire Premier G91 A dropped their afternoon contest 0-1 against Neon. Neon found the back of the net in the opening minutes of the contest off a corner kick and Crossfire was not able to reciprocate. Congrats, Neon on the great game.

FWR - Crossfire 2 vs Legends FC 1

Temecula, CA - Crossfire Premier G91 A improved their Far West Regional League record to 2-0-0 this morning with a solid win over a great Legends FC team by a final score of 2-1. Crossfire scored in the first 20 minutes and added an insurance goal before the halfway mark to take a commanding 2-0 lead into the break. The insurance goal proved crucial to the victory as Legends scored in the top half of the second period. Crossfire held firm from that point on to come away with the win.

Crossfire Wins WA State League...6-0 Win Over WPFC

Kirkland, WA - Maybe the Crossfire Premier G91A girls should do 400 mile road trip double-header weekends more often. They played their game to near perfection tonight under the lights at Lake Washington High School, beating a great WPFC squad 6-0. It was only 24 hours after they’d played their Far West Regional League game in Beaverton, Oregon. Crossfire came out strong, scoring in the first 15 minutes. From then on, Crossfire kept up the pressure with outstanding quick passes, and scored four more times to take a commanding 5-0 lead into the half. In the second period, Crossfire continued to press, scoring one more, and finished strong with continued precision one-two touch control and passing. With the win, Crossfire wins the Washington State League GU18-19 Division 1 with a 7-0-0 record, 39 goals scored with only 4 allowed, and 6 shut-outs.

FWR - Crossfire 1 vs Colorado Storm 0

Beaverton, OR - Crossfire Premier G91 A got on the board early against an outstanding Colorado Storm team in the first game of the 2010 Spring Far West Regional League season. The Crossfire goal proved to be enough margin for the win, as both teams battled hard on both offensive and defensive ends for the remaining 70 minutes of the game, held at the Tualatin Hills sports complex in Beaverton, Oregon.

Edmonds, WA - After a slow start, Crossfire got their mojo in the last 10 minutes of the first half, pressuring and eventually scoring off a beautiful corner kick/header goal in the final five to take a 1-0 lead into the half time break. It was just the beginning, as Crossfire came out on fire in the second half, picking up the pace of their game with quick one and two touch passing. Their ball movement paid off as they quickly got another goal in the opening five minutes of the second half. After that, they never looked back, and continued applying offensive pressure while their defense stopped NWN advances. Crossfire scored four times in the second half to end up with a 5-0 win, their fourth win in the past 9 days through much of the heart of the WA State League competition, scoring 17 goals over that time span while allowing only 2. Crossfire 5 vs ECFC '92 2

Redmond, WA - Crossfire Premier beat a very good ECFC ’92 squad 5-2 in a mid-week rainy contest. Both teams battled hard the entire way. Crossfire found the back of the net three times in the opening period and continued applying pressure in the second half. After going up 4-0, ECFC scored on a set play, and the teams traded goals late to end with the 5-2 score. After seven games of league play, Crossfire has tallied a 28-4 goals margin.

Redmond, WA - Crossfire scored three goals in the opening period against Eastside, and followed through with strong defense to win 3-0. With the win, Crossfire collected their fourth shut-out of league season.

Crossfire 4 vs Northwest United 0

Burlington, WA - Crossfire Premier took care of business today beating Northwest United 4-0 on a beautiful sunny winter day on the grass in Burlington. The Crossfire defense stood firm collecting their third shut-out so far this season, including snuffing out two scoring opportunities by the gritty Northwest United squad with two excellent stops at goal. On the offensive side Crossfire connected some solid passes together and finished well in finding the back of the net to add to their league season tally of 20 goals while allowing 2 in the first five games.

Redmond, WA - Crossfire Premier started the 2010 Washington State League play today with a solid 6-1 victory over Westsound. Crossfire tallied 4 goals in the opening period, 2 more in the second, and gave up a goal to the hard-playing Westsound in the second period to earn the win.

Crossfire Wins Far West Regionals

Lancaster, CA - Crossfire Premier ’91 A McCormick won the 2009 Far West Regionals championship today by defeating Real Southern Cal 3-0 in the championship game. Crossfire scored on a crossing pass/header goal combination early in the opening half. Crossfire then connected on a line drive very early in the second half from about 35 yards out, and scored their 3rd goal late in the contest on a break away. Crossfire started their championship run on June 15 with a commanding 5-1 win over Alaska State Champs CISC Velocity. Crossfire came out early, scoring on a PK and following up with another to take a 2-0 lead into the halfway mark. Alaska scored early in the 2nd period to make it 2-1 but Crossfire quickly answered with a third goal and put the game away down the stretch with two more. In their second contest, Crossfire played a scrappy Colorado State Champs Storm Academy COPA to a 2-2 tie. Again, Crossfire scored two goals in the opening period, but yielded two down the stretch to come away with the tie. It would be the last time Crossfire would be scored upon in the tournament.

In the third and final qualifying round contest, Crossfire beat a solid De Anza Force Cal North State Champ squad 3-0, and with the win, advanced to the quarterfinals. In that contest, Crossfire faced one of their toughest opponents of the tournament, Arizona State Champs Sereno White. Crossfire prevailed in the close contest, scoring in the second half after numerous shots to secure a 1-0 win and an advance to the semifinals. There they met Utah State Champs Avalanche Premier and played solid soccer both halves, scoring two times in each period, to cruise to the championship game with a 4-0 win. For the tournament, Crossfire amassed an incredible 16-3 goals margin. This was Crossfire’s fourth trip to the Far West Regionals and third time in the title game, winning it all in 2004 and earning a finalist finish in 2006.

Piscataway, NJ - Crossfire Premier ’91 came from behind in dramatic fashion, scoring two goals within 5 minutes early in the 2nd half, to beat #3 Nationally Ranked Eclipse 2-1 in their opening game at the PDA College Showcase. It was their second straight win over a Top 3 nationally ranked team, as Crossfire also beat PDA 3-0 in December, 2008.

Crossfire Premier G91 Wins GU18 Washington State League Division 1 Title!

Puyallup, WA - GU17 Crossfire Premier ’91 beat an outstanding Washington Premier GU18 squad 3-2 today to win the GU18 Washington State League Division 1 title. Crossfire scored two times in the opening period to take a 2-0 lead into the half-way mark, but Washington Premier came roaring back to tie things up with quick back-to-back goals midway through the second half. With less than three minutes remaining, Crossfire connected on a hard shot to come away with the 3-2 win and the league title. They finished undefeated in league play, with an 8-0-2 record, and with a league leading 40 goals scored and a league minimum 5 goals allowed.

Redmond, WA - GU17 Crossfire Premier ’91 continued their solid play down the stretch in the Washington State League GU18 Division 1 final week of competition by beating Crossfire Premier ’90 by a final score of 1-0. Both teams battled to a 0-0 tie at the half way mark, and the G91 squad connected on a free kick midway through the second half, then held on to secure the win. Crossfire Goes Undefeated On National Stage

Las Vegas, NV - Crossfire Premier ’91 wrapped up another very successful college showcase on the national scene this past weekend, finishing 2-0-2, defeating Challenge KZ and Dallas Sting, and tieing Slammers and FC Delco in 320 minutes of soccer in less than 48 hours. Crossfire remains undefeated after two rounds of action in the national league.

Crossfire Premier G91 Wins 3-0 Over #2 Ranked PDA

Raleigh, NC - Crossfire Premier G91A put an exclamation point on an undefeated weekend of play in the initial 2008 Red Bull National League tournament by rolling over PDA Fire 3-0. PDA is the reigning Region I champion and ranked 2nd nationally, but Crossfire wasted no time in establishing control of the game, scoring early and following up with another to take a 2-0 lead into the half way mark. Crossfire closed the door on PDA early in the 2nd half on a goal off a corner kick, and with the victory wrapped up an undefeated opening weekend of play in the 2008 Red Bull National League tournament. On Saturday, Crossfire played Colorado Rush Nike to a 0-0 tie, and opened the tournament with a solid win against Virginia Rush Nike 2-0. Under head coach Dick McCormick, the Crossfire Premier G91A squad showed their team strength all weekend long, with coaches from all the top-level NCAA schools attending. The tournament was hosted by CASL as part of the CASL Shoot-Out, with the Red Bull National League getting top billing as the premier division.
